The UK\u2019s largest woodland conservation charity and the county\u2019s wildlife conservation charity will be the focus of this term\u2019s free half-term education initiative at Branching Out Adventures.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday 24th October, the team from The Woodland Trust will set up \u2018camp\u2019 at Branching Out Adventures, Halland near Lewes, as part of its mission to protect the country\u2019s woods, trees and restore ancient woodland for the benefit of wildlife and people. On Friday 26th and Saturday 27th, October, Sussex Wildlife Trust will take over to spread the important message that 60 per cent of our wildlife are in decline and 1 in 10 are heading for UK extinction.<\/p>\n

Kate Hall of the Woodland Trust said: \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a whole lot of fun. We\u2019ve got lots of educational and fun activities to share with families and children, as well as spot prizes and some \u2018Awesome Autumn Adventures\u2019. Do you know why leaves turn red and gold in the autumn? Why not come along and find out!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark Oakden of Branching Out Adventures, said: \u201cOur mission is to encourage families to get out into nature. We want everyone to appreciate the majestic nature and importance of trees and wildlife. We\u2019re delighted that both The Woodland Trust and Sussex Wildlife Trust will be with us during the autumn half term. Come along and meet these amazing charities, hear about the work they are doing and learn lots about local nature and wildlife.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Woodland Trust is the country\u2019s largest woodland conservation charity with more than 1,000 sites. Sussex Wildlife Trust focuses on protecting the wonderfully rich natural life that is found across our towns, countryside and coast.
